This is a 2-part training series designed to increase Family Peer Advocate’s precision in delivering support to parents that is family-centered, strength-based, and resolution-focused. 

Part Two will begin with an immersive exercise that reminds us of approaches that are productive and those that are counterproductive and then look at three essential competencies for delivering productive peer support:

• Support that is parent/family-centered

• Support that is strength-based

• Support that is resolution/relief focused

 

Finally, we will look at application of these approaches in safety planning and offer to you a set of “conversation starters.”
