Aside from the expense, turnover can be an indicator of larger issues within an agency’s workforce. If these problems can be identified appropriately, solutions and next steps can result in immediate decreases in voluntary turnover. Examples of larger issues include supervisor/employee conflict, burnout, compassion fatigue, stress contagion, and value discrepancy/moral injury.
This module will discuss issues associated with burnout in behavioral health agencies with specific and actual examples derived from behavioral health agencies. A model for causal factors related to voluntary turnover will also be discussed.
