Part 1: Connecting with Caregivers (Supporting Parents of Children with Serious Mental Health Concerns)

When: Wednesday, May 12 - 12:00 PM

Duration: 1 hours 30 minutes

Location: Zoom

Event Details:

Many parents are being overwhelmed by the COVID-19 pandemic.  They are being asked to be child care providers, teachers, mental health professionals, and crisis counselors, and many are left to their own devices to address the needs of their children. Parents of children with social, emotional, or behavioral challenges are especially in need of support. This two-part series focuses on giving providers the tools they need to address the serious mental health and behavioral challenges parents and caregivers may face in the era of social isolation.

Part 1 focuses on the skills to develop a supportive relationship with parents and working through the blocked caregiving that many parents/caregivers may be experiencing in these times.
