We explored why devoting enough time and consistency to supervision leads to greater staff satisfaction and success, increasing retention and improving youth outcomes. Small break-out groups provided opportunities to practice skills.

Part 2 focused on the importance of comprehensive onboarding and creating opportunities for advancement and professional growth. We explored strategies to assure we make the time in our own busy schedules to adequately supervise and what to do when we have too many supervisees. We also reinforced the importance of self-care for the supervisor and the YPA as well as identifying and addressing the signs of vicarious trauma, burn-out and compassion fatigue.
