Community First Choice Option (CFCO) Webinar
When: Thursday, March 28 - 2:00 PM
Duration: 1 hours
Location: Webex
Event Details:
The Managed Care Community of Practice (MC-COP) has partnered with the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) and the Department of Health (DOH) to offer the most relevant and up-to-date information to I/DD providers preparing to make the transition to Medicaid Managed Care.
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) approved the State’s Medicaid Plan Amendment to add the Community First Choice Option (CFCO) set of services. CFCO, authorized in the Affordable Care Act, allows states to expand access and availability of long term services and supports. On July 1st, 2019, CFCO will be available in New York as a service option through both Fee-for-Service (FFS) and Managed Care (Mainstream Medicaid Managed Care and Managed Long Term Care). Through CFCO, New York State is expanding access and availability by offering some services and supports that have, until now, only been available through waivers.
MC-COP will be offering a series of web-based and in-person trainings over the next few months to support providers in their transition efforts. The first offering will take place on Thursday, March 29th at 2 PM. OPWDD will provide an overview of the vision and timeline for the changes ahead. Register here
