Overview: In light of COVID-19 and other world stressors, many people have experienced anger and urges to reject the reality. Some people may have had thoughts like “why is this happening?”, “I don’t want this to be my reality”, and “this is not fair”. This rejection is not uncommon as many of us have suffered, and yet, rejecting our realities can lead to more pain and suffering. This workshop will provide an overview of strategies aligned with acceptance, including how to accept things we do not like and cannot change, and concretely integrate acceptance into our daily lives.
Objectives:
Understand how rejecting reality increases pain and suffering.
Learn what acceptance means, and how it can be beneficial.
Learn strategies aligned with acceptance that can be utilized in daily life.
