This webinar is part 3 of a new MCTAC/CTAC training initiative: Business Best Practices & Management Webinar Series. The webinar series was designed to support organizations with limited infrastructure and resources in understanding best practices in business operations. The webinar series shared best practices around important topics such as Key Operational Functions/ Executive Leadership, IT/Data, Finance/Billing, & Quality/Documentation/Compliance. This webinar series was open to all behavioral health child and adult serving providers and was geared towards finance, senior & executive level staff, and program leadership.
The Finance / Billing webinar focused on:
Budgeting and fiscal models:
Understand the cost of doing business and the relationship between volume, costs, and revenues
Financial infrastructure:
Learn about finance tools: general ledger, chart of accounts, cost center structure, cost allocation, proper program level reporting, time and attendance​
Understand the usage of financial tools and the potential information gathered from these tools
Revenue cycle management:
Focus on process and monitoring to assure revenue is maximized - including grant revenue, tracking all claims, following up with MCOs, making sure all payments are received
