Coping with Crisis During COVID-19 Pt 3: Applying Psychological First Aid
When: Monday, June 22 - 1:00 PM
Duration: 1 hours
Location: Webex
Event Details:
Psychological First Aid (PFA) is an evidence-informed modular approach to help children, adolescents, adults, families, first responders and healthcare providers in the immediate aftermath of a disaster, including a pandemic. Individuals affected by a disaster or traumatic incident, whether survivors, witnesses, or responders to such events, may struggle with or face new challenges following the event. PFA was developed by the National Child Traumatic Stress Network and the National Center for PTSD, with contributions from individuals involved in disaster research and response.
This webinar will provide participants with an overview of PFA as well as tools and resources for applying these approaches to the people you serve, whether direct recipients of care or the many helpers providing services during the current crisis and its aftermath. We will also suggest disaster interventions to consider in the recovery phase after a disaster, such as Skills for Psychological Recovery.
