Aside from the expense, turnover can be an indicator of larger issues (i.e., supervisor/employee conflict, burnout, compassion fatigue, stress contagion, and value discrepancy/moral injury) within an agency’s workforce. When appropriately identified, targeted solutions can result in decreases in employee turnover. This module will review issues associated with burnout with specific and actual examples derived from behavioral health agencies. A model for causal factors related to voluntary turnover will also be discussed.
