Taking Stock with Compassion - Looking Forward with Hope: Reflective Process and Practical Problem-Solving in Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation

When: Monday, October 15 - 9:00 AM

Duration: 8 hours

Location: CUNY School of Law, Court Square West, Long Island City, NY, USA

Event Details:

It can be a complex undertaking to join parents, early care and education staff, and other caregivers in understanding and helping children whose development is of concern. With an eye to the balance between reflection and problem-solving – and an emphasis on supporting warm relationships between children and the adults who care for them – this training will explore a set of overall frameworks that can serve as useful anchors in the provision of effective early childhood mental health consultation. In addition, with the intention of providing participants with a set of strategies and approaches that they will be able to take with them into the field, it offers a close look at the nature of the practical guidance ECMH consultants can offer caregivers and teachers as they work to support the well-being of youngsters in their care.
