The Trauma Informed Family Peer Advocate

When: Wednesday, August 7 - 1:00 PM

Duration: 1 hours

Location: WebEx

Event Details:

Raising children with behavioral health needs can be a source of chronic stress for the entire family. Children with behavioral challenges are at  high risk for exposure to chronic stress as are their parents and caregivers. This webinar will focus on trauma informed practice in the context of Family Peer Support.  After a brief overview of the concept of childhood trauma, the presenters will share practical  ideas and strategies that Family Peer Advocates can adopt in their work to support families to better respond to their children’s behavior – and their own reaction to trauma - as a critical step toward building resilience.
